There is def some skill involved here, but to be honest it aint possible. Those flowers, hammer bros and the fireball thingies that spin in the water def woulda killed mario. Ill bet a Koopa dollar that there was a game genie involved here. |

it was fake...the second warp sequence was spliced together. To get to the warp zone in 4-2 you go up the vine, not down the tube. In 8-4 he went down the wrong tube to get to the water part. All the correct tubes are the first ones after the lava pits, he went down the last one before. |

Everything in this run is technically possible. The parts where he appears "invincible" are exploited errors in the game's collision detection. The so-called "spliced" warp zone exploits a glitch in the code regarding the available "exits" to a given screen. (He moves forward enough to expose the vine, and then goes back to the pipe.)
This is all made possible by the use of an emulator, a fact advertised in the original version of this video, which has had the title screens cut out by the poster. The original run (by "Pom") is available on Bisqwit's NESVideos site. (Google for it - I don't know how these pages feel about URLs in comments.) |

He so shoulda died when those killer flower thingys that rise outta the pipes were there. He jumped right into them like a million times. Game cheats for sure. There's also one on Youtube where Super Mario Bros. 3 is beaten in like 11 minutes, that one is WAY more realistic. |
